Fliq Bookmarks Syncs Safari With the Palm Pre

Palm_Pre_Missing_Sync.jpgMark/Space has announced Fliq Bookmarks, a webOS app that lets Palm Pre owners synchronize Safari bookmarks with their handset browsers--but it's not as useful as you think.

Essentially, the app hooks into The Missing Sync for Palm Pre, the $39.99 Mark/Space app that synchronizes contacts, calendars, music, photos, and other media between a Mac and a Palm Pre, including across desktop apps like  iTunes, Address Book, iCal, and iPhoto.

The problem? You need that program in order to use the new Fliq Bookmarks app. If you've got The Missing Sync already, Fliq bookmarks lets users sync bookmarks, including ones in folders, as well as Safari's bookmarks bar, with the Palm Pre's built-in Web browser. Otherwise, the app doesn't work.

Palm Pre owners who already own Mark/Space's the Missing Sync for Palm Pre can download Fliq Bookmarks for free from the Palm App Catalog.

Where Helps You Find Food, Fun and Friends on the Go

Where - LogoJust because you're traveling and in a place you don't know doesn't mean you have to settle for fast food and run-down tourist traps. If you have a smart phone, Where has you covered.  For example, if you're in New York City for a conference, Where can help you find a good local pizzeria so you don't have to settle for the McDonalds that's around the corner from the hotel. Once it has a suggestion, Where can also tell you how to get there. Best of all, if your friends in the area also have Where installed on their mobile devices, you can all turn on your beacons and use your phone's GPS to meet up for that pizza.

One of the benefits of having a smart phone is that you can use it to find your way just about anywhere. Most of them have GPS built-in, and even more are at least location-aware so you can look at maps and get directions wherever you are. Where takes that location awareness to another level and helps you find points of interest in your vicinity, whether it's a place to eat or a friend who's you want to meet.

Where is not the only serviced that helps you connect with businesses and events in your area; even Yelp can use your phone's location awareness to tell you where in the area you could eat, and Yelp comes with user ratings and reviews of the locations nearby. Where has an edge over some of those other applications because it can make use of your phone's GPS to give you directions ...
