Twisten.fm Lets You Hear What Others are Tweeting

TwistenFM - Logo

There's no shortage of Twitter-related services that allow you to post the name of the song you're currently listening to, or even link to a widget where Twitter users who are following your tweets can listen to what you're listening to. The trouble with those services is that they rely on you uploading and sharing your music somewhere in order to share your tunes.

Enter Twisten.fm: It's a product from the developers behind GrooveShark that allows you to use GrooveShark's massive music library of streaming music to post the songs you're listening to so other Twitter members can listen to them. As other Twitter users use the service, you'll be able to see and listen to what they're tweeting as well.

Twisten.fm has been making waves because it was developed by the same minds behind GrooveShark, and because it uses GrooveShark's music library to power the service. This way you don't have to upload your own MP3s to use a service like Twiturm or Song.ly. All you have to do is type in the name of the song you're listening to or the artist you're listening to and Twisten.fm searches GrooveShark's library, finds the song for you, and preps the Tweet for posting.

TwistenFM - Search

To use the service, you have to log in with your own Twitter username and password. The service uses your information to prep and post Tweets directly from the service on your behalf, but if you're wary of providing your Twitter username and password to a third-party, Twisten.fm may not be right for ...

The vid does a decent job of showing off…

Pantech Matrix PRO unboxed on video

Pantech’s Matrix PRO is certainly an interesting update on the original Pantech Duo, and although we’re not super-intrigued by a handset that can’t be updated to Windows Mobile 6.5, we’re not going to let that get in the way of some unboxing good times — and they must be good, considering PocketNo…

Apple once again squeezing Samsung’s flash memory supplies?

Apple and Samsung have a long history of locking up large-scale flash memory deals, and it looks like these two lovebirds are at it again — word is that Cupertino’s bought up all of Sammy’s output until April of that year. That’s an terrible lot of memory — Samsung manufactures some 40 percent of …

Can Your Cat Agree to an EULA?

An interesting story is making it rounds across the World Wide Web the past few days about someone who made a system to get his cat to agree to the EULAs she was presented with. While that’s just a funny joke, it does raise a very interesting point: whether person A agrees to an EULA, does its poten…
