Six Apart Intros Movable Type Pro

Six Apart today announced the release of Movable Type 4.2. The latest iteration of the blog publishing platform marks the introduction of Movable Type Pro (MT Pro), which adds content management and social networking features.

According to Six Apart, MT Pro, "makes building a community possible for anyone, including publishers, individual bloggers, educational institutions, small and medium-sized businesses or large enterprises." A number of sites have already implemented the feature, including AMC, Talking Points Memo, and BoingBoing.

Movable Type 4.2 also includes performance updates (the company claims that certain tasks run up to 100 times faster than on older versions), simplified templates, and improved spam protection.
