Thousand Dollar iPhone App Is Not a Joke, People

Wow, if only this post would have gone out yesterday, it could have perhaps saved a few lives--or, at the very least, a cool $1,000.

So, before we continue on, let me state for the record that the $999.99 I Am Rich is NOT A JOKE.

Actually, let me rephrase that: it is a joke--it's just a really, really expensive one.

Valleywag reports that one terrified iPhone customer clicked on the app for a larf and is now out a grand. "I forgot my wife had 'iclick' activated on my laptop and it really bought this app for $999," wrote the visible upset users who is now almost certainly slightly less rich. With the 1-Click feature installed, he never had time to view the "Do you really want to buy this?" message.

Let this be a lesson to all of us: when it comes to the iPhone, even the jokes are really expensive.
