Detroit Pension Funds Sue Yahoo! For Rejecting Microsoft Bid

Oh Yahoo! Will you ever learn?

With the threat of a Microsoft proxy fight looming over its head, Yahoo! was dealt another blow Friday when two Detroit pension funds sued the Internet company for rejecting Microsoft's $41.2 billion offer.

Detroit's Police and Fire Retirement System and General Retirement System are seeking class-action status for their suit, which was filed by veteran shareholder litigation firm Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossman, according to Reuters.

The suit criticizes Yahoo for blowing off Microsoft while "pursuing all manner of value-destructive third-party deals" - presumably referring to AOL and News Corp.

The suit asks that the Delaware Chancery Court block Yahoo from teaming up with these or other companies.

Yahoo had no comment.
