Microsoft Vista, how far you've come. Why, I still remember clearly the days when you were just a scrappy little OS that no one liked. Heck, I was out on the floor at last year's DigitalLife, showcasing a beta version of you to any curious party who might be passing by. Now look at you. There's a whole booth on the DigitalLife '07 showroom floor dedicated to PCs, accessories, and apps that are certified to work with you. Heck, there were even a few digital photo frames specially tuned to your color profiles.
Yep, everything in Microsoft's booth [pictured] is Vista-friendly, including the PR people, who are, like way into Aero.

Call Michael Arrington what you will -- uberblogger, analyst, provocateur -- the guy works his butt off to cover the Web 2.0 industry and Internet startups.
Ziff-Davis asked Arrington to moderate a DigitalLife panel on disruptive technologies, after which Kyle Monson and Chloe Albanesius sat down with him for a frank discussion on what he himself thought were the most disruptive technologies in the tech world today, and what Arrington's role is in defining those technologies. Click here for the interview..
Snippet:
Q: You did call yourself a journalist on the panel.
Arrington: Sometimes I am, depends. But sometimes I'll say "according to a source", but I've learned all this stuff. I've learned that sometimes you've got to cover your ass. But, you know, sometimes I wake up and I'm in a pissed off mood and I trash a company. You're never going to do that when you have an editorial process.

OK, we'll bite. On a reference from Michael Arrington, we checked out Payittome, which offers an interesting concept: you upload a picture of something you want, and someone richer than you buys it, pays you, and earns the right to turn your picture into a link to their site.
You can upload a picture of just about anything (people have posted shots of beer (which paid off) an iPhone (which hasn't) and a car (good luck).
Send your picture and your paypal address to payittome@gmail.com, and the picture will later appear at this related Web site (why it doesn't have a payittome URL seems a bit odd; perhaps this will change). Since this is a one-man operation authored by a guy with a government job in Belgium, I suspect that there may well be a delay in posting, especially if this takes off.
The one weakness of the site (aside from the manually processed entries) is that advertisers don't get a clear, obvious indication of their presence. The only indication that Oprah bought a kid a new car (hypothetical, at this point) would be to hover the mouse over the link, or click through. Still, given that the MillionDollarHomepage, SaveKaryn.com and GiveBoobs.com (the last link is NWS and contains pics of naked boobs) worked, maybe it will pay to jump(start) a new Web trend.
