I stumbled across another Web 2.0 social bookmarking scene today and thought I would talk about it a bit. EarthFrisk (EF) is the latest of Web 2.0 social sites that caters to both visitors and webmasters alike. EF is sort of a MySpace social networking site with a twist of Digg.
As a registered user of EF you are able to submit your favorite blog posts or any post you come across while searching the web. You are also provided your own “personal” page where you can blog about anything that crosses your mind. This, in my opinion, is a great way to build relationships while you are spreading your knowledge and expertise about your chosen niche.
Some of the best features of EF include:
A Full Social Networking Side that anyone can create blogs, groups, share photos and more.
A Voting side where members can promote their blogs, news items and articles - allowing others to vote and comment on them.
An Ef it Button (originally derived from a curse term) where your site visitors can jump to the most popular sites submitted by others, all the while not leaving your site!
A full article directory enabling anyone to upload thier articles.
A Section called ‘Create a Page’ where anyone can create whole pages to promote their blogs, sites or whatever else they feel like sharing.
A full Blinkx Video Wall where anyone can search for videos from across all platforms and companies such as Myspace, YouTube and Daily Motion Video. Results displayed on a huge ‘Matrix Like’ Video Wall. (source PRWeb)
EarthFrisk, I’m sure will grow to be a solid contender in the battle of Web 2.0 social bookmarking sites. With all the options available through their site and the continued explosion in popularity of Web 2.0 social ...

Because of a systemic campaign of de-emphasisby the Man (who is right-handed, of course) today, August 13, Left-Handers' Day, has only a few hours left in it.
I don't know about you, but I can still remember the years and years and years of suffering through classrooms with right-handed desks, trying to cut with right-handed scissors (I finally learned how to cut right-handed) and, of course, right-handed golf clubs. Even place settings favor the righty. I can take some small comfort in the fact that hitting lefty is an advantage in baseball, although, as a stereotypical pitcher, I stunk.
However, we lefties have one key advantage in the tech world. Do you know what it is?
Yep, that's left: the number pad. No lame WASD keying for video games here! Place the mouse in your left hand, move, jump and strafe with your right, and wreak sinister destruction on your foes. Need inspiration? Check out this list of famous lefties. Hint: President Clinton is a lefty. Pres. George W. Bush is not.
So sit back, crack open a beverage (see the image for a suggestion) and fight to get the lefts of lefties back for good!

Google just added StarOffice, a free full-feature Office Suite, to its Google Pack collection of applications. Sun developed StarOffice from the same source code the company released in 2000 that became the foundation of OpenOffice.org. StarOffice 8 contains a word processor, a spreadsheet tool, applications for presentations, databases, math formulas and drawing.
It supports most Microsoft Office documents except the formats introduced in Office 2007 and it can also export documents as PDF out of the box. Normally this would cost you $70 bucks, but you get all this for free in Google Pack. The installer is over 140 MBs so you'll want to download StarOffice from a fast broadband connection. StarOffice is currently integrated with Google Search and Google Desktop. As GoogleSystem points out, the next step will probably be synchronizing local documents with Google Docs & Spreadsheets, so you can edit documents offline, then collaborate and store files securely online.

It took a ton of work, but the first part of our annual top Web sites roundup is finally here. This week, we look at the Top 100 Classic Web Sites--well-established sites that we continue to visit, day after day, even after all of these years.
That's not to say that the Classics list is merely a summary of the best-known sites on the Web--doing a run down of those would have saved us a bit of time, sure, but what's the fun in that? The best-known sites are just that because, well, everybody already knows about them. We've dug a bit deeper this year, in order to bring to light some sites that, even with a strong user base, are still possible have missed, in the constant deluge of exciting new sites.
Sure there are some well-established sites on the list--eBay, Google, and Wikipedia spring to mind--but that's because we felt that, even after all of their time on top, they've continued to innovate. In the world of the Web, you don't stay number one for too long, without constantly bringing something new to the table--there are always a million upstarts vying to take your place. We'll focus on the new-comers next time around.
We've broken down the list of 100 into 18 different categories. Have a look, and let us know who we left off, who really didn't deserve to be included at all, and whether or not we just generally blew the whole damned thing. There's always next year...
